1883 Fort Russell Post Office was established on April 25, 1883.


1903 President Theodore Roosevelt visited the town of Newcastle on April 25, 1903. From Newcastle, the president traveled to Nebraska, then back to Colorado, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Idaho before returning to Wyoming at the end of May.
