1885 September 2 marks the anniversary of a very tragic event in Wyoming's history. In 1885, 150 white miners in Rock Springs, Wyoming, brutally attacked their Chinese co-workers, killing 28, wounding 15 others, and driving several hundred more out of town. 1889 The delegates elected to the convention to form a constitution for the proposed State of Wyoming convened in the Capitol building at Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming on September 2, 1889. The Constitutional Convention concluded on September 30, 1889.
