1944 An article titled "How to live 70 miles from town in Wyoming" by Helena Huntington Smith was published in the Saturday Evening Post of September 23, 1944. The article spoke of Buzzard Ranch—now part of the Pathfinder Ranch—described as "forty-five miles from the post office [at Alcova] and seventy-two miles from Casper."
