1863 Idaho Territory—formed by Act of March 3, 1863. Idaho Territory, as formed, included the present Territories of Idaho and Montana, and all of the present Territory of Wyoming, except the southwestern portion.

1873 The 42nd Congress passed the Timber Culture Act on March 3, 1873. It expanded the original homestead act (1862) making it possible to stake a claim on the Great Plains by planting trees.

1884 An act incorporating the city of Buffalo became law on March 3, 1884.
