1869 The Territorial Government was formally inaugurated when the governor, secretary, the chief justice and two associate justices were appointed on April 7, 1869 by the newly elected President Ulysses S. Grant, who took his oath of office March 4, 1869.

1870 Uinta County was created December 1, 1869 and organized April 7, 1870.
