1843 In 1843, John C. Fremont led an expedition across southern Wyoming. On August 2, the party was in the Little Snake River Region. He wrote "Temperature at sunrise 52 degrees, and scenery and weather made our road today delightful."
1882 The Oregon Short Line Railway was approved by an act of the United States Congress as being a railroad corporation in the territories of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, with the same rights and privileges allowed it by its Articles of Incorporation as filed in the Territory of Wyoming. The route between Granger, Wyoming and Montpelier, Idaho was completed on August 5, 1882.
