1883 During the summer of 1883, President Chester A. Arthur traveled to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. On August 20, the party camped on the east bank of the Snake River.
1887 Uva, located northeast of present day Wheatland, became a station on the Cheyenne and Northern Railway. The Cheyenne Daily Sun of August 20 announced the new train schedule.
