1869 The first Wyoming Territorial Legislative Assembly created and defined  the boundaries of Uinta County on December 1, 1869. Merril (Merrill) near Fort Bridger was named the county seat. Uinta county was the fifth Wyoming county and the first to be created by the Wyoming Territorial Government. It was organized on April 7, 1870 with Evanston as its county seat.

1889 On December 1, 1889 the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad extension between Alliance, Nebraska and Cambria, Wyoming was opened. (Morton, Illustrated History of Nebraska)
