1908 Gunn Post Office was established on February 1, 1908. Gunn was a coal camp for the Gunn Quealy Coal Company of which George E. Gunn was president.
1930 Fort Warren Post Office was established as Fort Russell Post Office on April 25, 1883. Its name was changed to Fort Warren Post Office on February 1, 1930.
1947 The Plains Cottonwood became Wyoming's State Tree on February 1, 1947. It's a very appropriate state tree as there are 188 officially-named places in Wyoming with cottonwood as part of the name. There is at least one Cottonwood Creek in all of our 23 counties.
