1845 Joseph M. Carey, first U.S. Senator from Wyoming and later governor, was born in Milton, Delaware on January 19,1845. A number of places in Wyoming are named for him and other members of the Carey family including Careyhurst.

1891 Whitehead Post Office in Laramie County was established on January 19, 1891 with William M. Glascock as postmaster.

1893 Deranch Post Office in Fremont County was established on January 19, 1893 with William Long as postmaster.
