1883 Rongis Post Office was established on January 4, 1883 in Sweetwater County prior to the formation of Fremont County. John J. Signor was the postmaster. Rongis was located near the Sweetwater River south of present day Jeffrey City.

1908 On January 4, 1908, residents of Torrington voted for the incorporation of the town.

1923 Tunnel completed on Wind River Canyon highway on January 4, 1923. The Utah Construction Company built the tunnels; we haven't been able to verify the completion date.
