1862 On July 11, 1862, the Postmaster General ordered the mail contractor to move the route from the Oregon Trail to the Overland Trail.
1904 "Wyoming Day" at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition World's Fair in St. Louis was held on July 11, 1904. According to the Final Report of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Commission by the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Commission, "Almost from the opening day of the exposition a surprisingly large number of people from Wyoming visited the fair...It was shown by registration at the Wyoming headquarters and at the various hotels that one person in every fifty in Wyoming saw the World's Fair."
1911 The people of Campbell County voted for the organization of the county with Gillette as its county seat.
