July 3

1778 On July 3, 1778, the Battle of Wyoming of the Revolutionary War occurred at Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania. It's a long way in time and space from "our" Wyoming, but some records indicate the state of Wyoming was named for Wyoming Valley.

1868 The Treaty with the Eastern Band Shoshoni and Bannock was made and concluded at Fort Bridger, Utah Territory. Chief Washakie signed the treaty.
