1914 The cornerstone for the Industrial Institute in Worland was laid.

1921 A large fire occurred in Casper Wyoming involving lightning striking the oil tanks of the Midwest Oil Refinery, resulting in a multi-day effort to extinguish. The fire consumed 350,000 of the 410,000 barrel holding tanks.
