1869 On May 10, 1869, the tracks of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railways were connected with the Golden Spike at Promontory Summit, Utah, having laid over 700 miles of track across Wyoming.

1903 Winchester Post Office was established on May 10, 1903 in Big Horn County prior to the formation of Washakie County.
