1914 On May 27, 1914, the Cheyenne State Leader reported on the results of the sale of lots in the "new town" of Chugwater. Chugwater wasn't new. It had been a post office since 1872 and a railroad station on the Cheyenne Northern Railroad since 1887. This growth was a result of the dry farming that was occurring in the area.
