1949 The Snake River Compact, negotiated by the representatives of both Idaho and Wyoming was signed on October 10, 1949. It divides the Snake River and the Salt River between Idaho and Wyoming. The waters covered by the compact are the Snake River from its headwaters to the Wyoming-Idaho boundary and all tributaries flowing into it within the boundaries of Wyoming, and the Salt River and all its tributaries.
