1867 Orders were issued to abandon Fort Caspar on October 19, 1867. At that time, troops and “all useful materials,” including buildings, were transferred to Fort Fetterman. Fort Casper was originally established in May 1862 and named Platte Bridge Station. It was designated a fort November 21, 1865.

1923 Evansville Post Office in Natrona County, was established on October 19, 1923 with Henry F. Beeman as its first postmaster.

1969 On October 19, 1969, the new Laramie County Library building at 2800 Central Avenue was dedicated.
