1885 The Rock Springs Massacre saw 150 white miners in Rock Springs brutally attacked their Chinese co-workers, killing 28, wounding 15 others, and driving several hundred more out of town. Camp Pilot Butte was then established in the hopes of preventing further violence.
1889 The delegates elected to the convention to form a constitution for the proposed State of Wyoming convened in the Capitol Building at Cheyenne on September 2, 1889. The Constitutional Convention concluded on September 30, 1889.
