1907 The Wyoming Tribune of September 11, 1907 reported on the new Meyers Station on the Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad near Kirby. The new station's local name was Cottonwood. There is a Cottonwood Creek in this area, its alternate name is Meeyero Creek. Interestingly, Meeyero Creek was known by that name as early as 1875. William A. Jones cites it by name in his Report upon the reconnaissance of northwestern Wyoming: including Yellowstone National Park. Could Meyers have been a variant of Meeyero?
