Map of Wyoming 1865
Wyoming Territory was created by the Organic Act of July 25, 1868 but a portion of it appears on this 1865 map. "Wyoming is named for the first time on this map." -- (Blevins, 2007)
Johnson's Nebraska, Dakota, Idaho, and Montana published by Johnson and Ward in Johnson's New Illustrated (Steel Plate) Family Atlas, with Physical Geography, and with Descriptions Geographical, Statistical, and Historical; New York: Johnson and Ward, 1865
Title Page Late 1865 edition. From Title Page: "The New Plates, Copyrighted by A. J. Johnson, are made exclusively for Johnson's New Illustrated Family Atlas.
