Map of Wyoming 1874

In 1874, the Territory of Wyoming had five counties. Laramie, Albany, Carbon (formerly Carter), and Sweetwater were created by the Legislative Assembly of Dakota Territory in 1867 and 1868.  Uinta was created by the first Wyoming Territorial Legislative Assembly in 1869. Yellowstone, the first National Park was established in 1872.
